SERVICES
Magnetic Particle Inspection
MPI is a method of NDT which can only be used on ferromagnetic materials for the detection of surface breaking defects and slightly sub-surface defects.
Dye Penetrant Inspection
DPI is used for detecting surface breaking defects, such as cracks or porosity. It utilises a penetrating liquid which is applied to the surface and is drawn into any discontinuity present.
Positive Material Identification
PMI is the analysis of a metallic alloy to establish composition by reading the quantities by percentage of its constituent elements.
Ultrasonic Testing
UST uses very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with centre frequencies ranging from 0.1-15 MHz and occasionally up to 50 MHz. The sound waves are transmitted into materials to detect internal flaws or to characterise materials.
Ferrite Testing
Ferrite testing is carried out by measuring the Ferrillium count by the means of a small probe utilising the magnetic induction test method. This is where the Ferrite content is obtained from the magnetic permeability.
EQUOTIP Hardness Testing
We carry out hardness testing both on site and at our premises using a portable EQUOTIP hardness tester which is designed for testing metallic materials with hardness ranges from very low to very high values.

ScanTech Inspection Services is a NDT (non destructive testing) company. We provide many services including; DPI (Dye Penetrant Inspection), MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection), Ferrite Inspection, Hardness Inspection, PMI OES & XRF (Positive Material Identification) and UST (Ultrasonic Testing).
The company was founded in 1992, its head office at Wallows Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill has excellent transport links. Our premises has 1500 sq feet of space for the facilities and testing equipment required for the full range of services we have to offer. ScanTech also has the capacity to send Technicians to its customers sites to conduct a wide variety of tests, please enquire for further details.
